The “crown” is the first stage of the splash sequence that occurs when you release a drop of water into a dish or pan of water. Each one is unique and beautiful..

Monochrome Liquid Art collection image

Monochrome Liquid Art: These images were taken through glass in a tank. It was great fun working through the wall of the tank with a black background.. I adore the splashes creating a bokeh effect on the glass wall like twinkle lights around the subject in focus. Photographing water droplet collisions can be tricky given that your subject vanishes instantly. The process of setting up and revising a successful shoot strategy isn’t easy. The beauty of this kind of experimentative photography is that altering each aspect of the workflow, such as the camera settings, timings, the color or type of the liquid, placement of the lights, and more, can open up different possibilities that produce unique results like these. I hope you enjoy this step on my liquid art journey as much as I do, but know that it's a not a prerequisite.
