When I was growing up I saw Marilyn Monroe and it seemed like I was looking at Splendor. When I grew up I saw Marilyn Monroe and it seemed like I was looking at Dramatic. When I grew up mentally I saw Marilyn Monroe and it seemed like I was looking at Dark.
While I was growing up my dad was collecting stamps by sending letters to people from all over the world. That always stayed with me and inspired me to make my collages with stamps from the country of the subject, because I believe that the place we´re born shapes us. Using stamps that have travelled, that have made a connection. Those stamps were also licked so they have the DNA of people from that country, which then becomes part of the skin of my subjects. Creating portraits of large figures I idolize to make them even larger by showing they actually contain multitudes.
