About the piece: The first thing I do every morning is check my iphone. See the time. A new Whatsapp? Instagram? Get out of bed. Sit on the table. With my iphone reading Spanish Football news. English Football news. Facebook. Gmail. 2nd Gmail. 3rd Gmail. 4fth Gmail. Art news. Instagram. Italian Football news. And Forty three minutes of my day have gone by and I already know the world around me through my iPhone, thank you for the breakfast of content Mister Jobs.
While I was growing up my dad was collecting stamps by sending letters to people from all over the world. That always stayed with me and inspired me to make my collages with stamps from the country of the subject, because I believe that the place we´re born shapes us. Using stamps that have travelled, that have made a connection. Those stamps were also licked so they have the DNA of people from that country, which then becomes part of the skin of my subjects. Creating portraits of large figures I idolize to make them even larger by showing they actually contain multitudes.
