This is the story of Warren Allyoucaneat, the greatest financial market wizard of all time, and his amazing hat, Hermyown.

In the early days of his career, Warren was just another bird in the flock, following the lead of others and generally getting nowhere. Then one day, he found a pointy grey hat, hat lying abandoned and looking out of sorts.

He decided to put it on, and his life changed forever.

"Hello!" said the hat. "My name is Hermyown, and I am a magical hat. From now on, you will be the greatest financial market wizard of all time!"

And so it proved. Warren Allyoucaneat quickly developed a reputation as the most successful investor in the world, making more money than anyone else, year after year. His secret was simple: he always listened to Hermyown. Thanks to his incredible hat, he went on to make an incredible fortune, and Hermyown became the most famous hat in the world.

But as time went by, Warren started to get cocky. He became convinced that he was the only one who could make money, and that Hermyown was just a lucky charm. One day, he decided to go it alone without the hat's help. He took off the hat and put it on a dusty shelf. Soon, he had lost everything.

Penniless and alone, Craig realized that he had been a fool. He went back to find Hermyown, but the hat was gone, to ensnare a new bearer.

Craig (whose name had changed at some point in the story) never saw Hermyown again, but he never forgot the lesson he learned: that it takes more than just luck to be a success in the financial markets. Sometimes you need a little help from your friends - even when your friend is a hat.
