This is a special one for me. This image was shot in a location that is near Burney Falls. This river runs through some of the most magical forest I have ever seen in California. I shot this right as the fall colors started to come out, so there are little pops of orange and red hidden all around this image. And yes, there is a bridge in this composition, its tucked away and only for the people who care to see the details in a photograph.

Nor-Cal Flow Volume I collection image

Nor-Cal Flow is a project spanning the course of three collections, which will showcase the amazing water features that Northern California has to offer.

Every summer, the entire state endures difficult wildfire seasons, with some of the most breathtaking areas in California being destroyed in the process. In 2021 alone, one third of Lassen National Park has burned, all of Lake Tahoe was at risk of burning, and many other lesser known areas were also at risk; thousands of people have been displaced and/or lost their homes.

Forty percent of the places captured in this first collection have burned, potentially making these images the last of their kind, and they will never be the same in our lifetimes.

I have strived to capture the beauty of these places, frozen in time, and 20% of all the profits from all three collections will be donated to the California Wildfire Relief Fund.
