Car Corners of Cuba collection image

This collection features 90 1/1 classic cars, all captured by iPhone on the streets of Cuba by @mattgee. Series 1-3 is now available.

Classic cars are a part of Cuba that everyone is familiar with, and I knew I would see them on my trip. On the first day, I took a walking tour of Havana – and that’s when it struck me just how many there are. I stood at an intersection and saw classic cars of any and every color pass by, in just a few minutes. They play such a huge part in the visual landscape of the city.

During my first few days, I decided to take a few photos of the cars from a specific angle, and mix up the colors to create a spectrum. This quickly turned into a mini personal project, as I made it my goal to capture every color that I could. Shades like reds, blues and pinks were very common; oranges, greens and yellows were not. I ended up with more than 100 photos. Together, they show how the cars really add to Cuba’s sense of vibrancy.
