Beauty today is a paradox. The cult of beauty is ubiquitous but it has lost its transcendence and become little more than an aspect of consumerism, the aesthetic dimension of capitalism. The sublime and unsettling aspects of beauty have given way to corporeal pleasures and 'likes', resulting in a kind of 'pornography' of beauty. We have become slaves of our own search for beauty.

In my performance and visual art, I aim to deconstruct beauty and denounce this craving, making peace with our demons, with our ugliness, with destruction and negativity, which are aspects that must be bared and faced if humanity is to escape stupor and keep improving.
