The Story of Johnny Aces

In a rundown casino far off the Las Vegas strip, Johnny is dealing his last hand of the night. He overhears a couple of old time poker players tell a tale, about a pair of lucky aces... “The Las Vegas Gambling Museum is closing. They say there’s a pair of lucky aces in an unbreakable glass display case and anyone who can get them out, without breaking the glass, will bring them luck. It closes for good, tonight.”

On a moonlit night, Johnny bluffs his way into the museum, just as it closes. He looks for the display case but notices the air conditioner is sparking and it starts to malfunction! He waits and waits and soon the display case frosts and shatters, like a block of ice. The alarm sounds as a hand reaches in and grabs a deck of cards.

Johnny is quickly heading home, what’s held tightly in his hand are his only thoughts. Luck might get him out of the muck he’s in. ​ The museum curator arrives and sees a shattered glass display case and a deck of cards on the floor. He picks them up, fans through the deck, and a slight smile comes to his face. Two Aces are missing.
