Those who reside at the bottom of the social pyramid live a life of war, continuously fighting for resources they desperately need to survive, while those at the top live a life without the need for worry. Those two parties are separated from the pyramid from the base to its tip, yet the most corrupt of them would be the ones at the top. Even the police, who were supposed to be the enforcers of justice, can be corrupted in their hearts, as unrighteous as it is considering their position.

When the world becomes riddled with lies, violence, and war, is there any way to restore peace and order in society?

Gotham City is a representation of a buzzing, urban metropolis that is littered with corrupt officials that barely do anything against the surging crimes, the city is depicted as a society without peace and order.

A wealthy, eccentric, and intelligent person saw this as a problem, like a growing plague in their society that needed to be fixed. Bruce Wayne had the money but not the power. With the desire to prevent all crimes in the city, he sought out power and became the vigilante known as “The Dark Knight”.

Even with his inventions and technology, it proved to be a nearly impossible task to fix everything all by himself. He ventured into the underground of the city, discovering the evil that had propagated. That was when he truly discovered that the city he once knew only existed from the outside–that all this time, he had lived under the invisible cowl of order, yet devoid of peace and safety.

Bruce Wayne had a relationship with Selina Kyle, and her deceptive nature was one of the main causes of the bumps in their relationship. This also had an effect on Bruce, as it was the cause of his trust issues.

Becoming a vigilante is already an amazing feat by itself because of the pressure that one has to carry, but in the real world, there may be no such thing as vigilantes.

On that note, we don't have to become like “The Dark Knight”.

Society often recognizes one’s mistakes rather than one’s successes. It is an unhealthy social pattern that drags down those above them.

It's a dog-eat-dog world, and it never stops. There is no such thing as a utopia. There is no such thing as a crimeless city.

That is the reason why we, as individuals, must survive by ourselves if we do not have anyone to trust. And if we do choose to trust others, we must be careful that they will not betray us.

There are some people who may be described as "demons in disguise", that solely exist to bring down others for their own benefit. But we must also become careful of ourselves.

Discontentment will turn into jealousy–to envy–and finally, to selfishness.
