I dreamt I was swimming in deep blue water, when a skeleton woman appeared, dressed in black. I felt fear in my body but as quickly as she appeared — she began to float away. The water turned from black to blue and soon an octopus swam by. We began to dance and twirl and I felt free and unbridled joy. He led me to an UNDERWATER CATHEDRAL, with an organ powered by our dancing.
UNDERWATER CATHEDRAL is the sister painting to DANCING WITH THE OCTOPUS is a depiction of that dream and shows the color that awaits us on the other side of fear. Stylistically it is very similar to other paintings in the BLOOM series (with less dark blue) and also features a full moon.
