The Òsun-Osogbo sacred grove is regarded as the home place of the Yoruba goddess Òsun, who is associated with water, purity, fertility, love and sensuality. It is a 75 hectare protected forest is the last of its kind and is dotted with shrines, sculptures and artworks and is also a UNESCO heritage site.
I have spent the past 2 years traveling Nigeria and documenting stories about our culture, history and landscapes. Throughout my life, African countries have been depicted in a negative manner in the media and I do this to show the world that Africa is lush, rich and diverse. I document these stories on my personal website www.foluoyefeso.com, and the photographs in this collection are favorites from the journey so far. Thank you for being here!
