Price: 0.15 ETH
Edition: 1/1
That unusual and different posture of the young man in the extreme right, where his head is missing made this shot a good one for me. It has an interesting element to look at plus it creates a contrast between those 2 old people who can manage to do only simple aasanas while this young man who is doing complex ones. Skipping rope in the foreground gives a context that they are exercising.
about the artist- Mohit khetrapal is a Street, Travel and documentary photographer for more than 6 years. His work has been awarded, exhibited and published at many national and international platforms.
The Yoga Series is a collection of 10 photographs that represent Yoga through the lens of street photography, which means they are completely unposed and unscripted. I have been wandering the Ghats of Varanasi, India with my camera for almost 6 years, and out of all the regular activities I have seen, Yoga is the one that piqued my interest. My eyes were drawn to the unusual and fascinating postures, known as aasanas. I made a conscious decision to document it, but in a distinctive manner (Street photography approach). I was also drawn towards documenting yoga since it has long been a part of the Indian culture. The street and documentary photographers in me collaborated to make this body of work. Out of many yoga photos I have taken over the years, I curated and handpicked ten that, in my opinion, represent each aspect of street photography like emotions, surprise element, luck, mystery, juxtaposition etc. I have given each of my photographs a title based on one of these aspect.
