One of the most stylish snowboarders ever, Noah brought a skate sensibility to the mountains and was responsible for driving snowboarding in a progressive direction, away from ski culture.
I first met him when i was riding for Sims and beginning my road as a photographer. After developing a relationship with the Hatchett brothers I found myself shooting with him at Squaw Valley in 1993. Other legends of Tahoe that day included Terry Kidwell.
2 things I love about this photo: Dave Hatchett is following down the pipe hand-holding an Arri 16mm camera. That thing probably weights 12 pound and Dave has to keep it pointed and smooth. And the classic Noah skate graphic. Absolutely iconic.
These were good days.
This NFT comes with an unlockable file to print a 12x18 version of the photo as well as instructions for the best practices for printing. This ensures that if the NFT sells to a new user, they will also get the add-on value.
In the 90s snowboarding was still new, wild, dangerous, and changing by the month. It was exciting, the characters were legendary, and it went from the outcast to the olympics in a matter of years. These are some of the photos from that era. Sports collectables for those of us who were never into team sports.
