Proud David. Out and Proud.

My coming out process took a long-ass time. And I’ve experienced many levels of coming out over the course of my life. And now we’re all coming out. We're coming out of the pandemic. All people (gay, straight or otherwise) are coming out of their self-isolation and discovering their new self expression in the world.

This image was created to commemorate PRIDE 2021, our collective coming out of the pandemic and my own coming out story, not only as a gay man, but recently out of a creative shell and into a new world of artist empowerment.

This image itself combines imageries that are personally meaningful to me. The David, an icon of male beauty, was created by Michelangelo who arguably was a gay man himself, and like me, an architect, artist and polymath. The image is rendered in a pop art style, reminiscent of Warhol and other artists of that era who still influence me. And, of course, there is the rainbow of colors, symbolic of pride and differentiated individuality. I'm a gay man. A man of unique talents. A unicorn. And that's the way God made me. Gay, straight or otherwise, I hope this image inspires you to let your own individuality come out and shine.

NFT STILL: This image is available as an NFT still in a limited edition of 69. Yes, you heard that right: 69. The image size is 4000 X 3995 PX

When the NFT edition sells out , I will offer (through random drawing) a signed print (# 1/69) with hand-painted frame to one of the NFT purchasers. (In the event the winner does not reach out to me with their contact information and mailing address within 2 weeks of the drawing, I will randomly draw another winner, and the process will continue until the framed print is successfully mailed to a winner.)
