In Lima, we visited the covenant of San Fransisco and one of the oldest catacombs in South America.
This particular 'well' was constructed to preserve the crypt from seismic damage. At one time filled with water, it was thought that it would absorb the shockwaves from earthquakes. Now it serves as a reminder of the finitude of our existence.
The support of my collectors this year made it possible to embark on a dream trip to Peru this fall.
The trip included many cultural experiences, exploration of vastly changing landscapes and high altitude trekking in the Andes Mountains.
