Emotion Circles is a generative artwork by Ben Heim exploring shifting emotional states through colour. A borderline marks the point of transition between emotions. Before it the remnants of old emotions and patterns remain, behind it the new emotional states kicks up dust as they fly through our neurones. Each image is generated by slow randomization of parameters over time. The parameters include colour source, temporal position, random hue, source displacement and rotation rates.

Emotion Circles is a generative archive project by Ben Heim exploring shifting emotional states through colour. A borderline marks the point of transition between emotions. Before it the remnants of old emotions and patterns remain, behind it the new emotional states kick up dust as they fly through our neurones. All stills and videos are rendered from a single generative system and archived on Opensea. 48 still artefacts have been generated alongside 12 video artefacts. Video artefacts depict a shifting emotional state, while still artefacts depict a frozen moment in time, a snapshot of an emotion in fruition or transition. The source code of the work is also stored as an NFT in this collection.
