Wooferblast is the “artist name” used by myself, Dave Scott. I am a musician, producer, and visual artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

Before 1994 I had spent about twenty years playing bass guitar in various rock bands. Cover tunes. You know, like Aerosmith, Z Z Top, Hendrix, The Who, and whatever people wanted us to play. During this time, I was building my own synthesizer, experimenting, and making strange sounds in my home studio – looking forward to the day when I could quit the rock bands and start working on my own original music.

Around 1993, I had quit playing in bands and finally bought the gear I needed to create electronic music. I spent a LOT of time in the studio before releasing my first CD, titled Louder Than Words in 1994. More releases followed and I began performing music in public again, but this time I was playing my own music. At the time, I was using an Ensoniq SQ-80 sequencer/synthesizer, an Ensoniq ASR-10 digital sampler, and a Roland D-110 sound module. All hardware. No computers.

Then about three years ago, I sold most of my hardware and started creating music with my computer. This has opened up a whole new world of possibilites for me and I’ve been very very busy. And I have to say, I don’t miss having to haul around all of that heavy equipment!

If you want to contact me, please use the Contact Page on this web site. If you would like to hear some of my music, I have almost 600 songs on my page at Metapop and a few more on my Soundcloud page.

When I am not working on music, I can sometimes be found wandering around in Somnium Space.
