Imagine a little hippie kind of town 1h on a scooter away from the main pier on the island. The way is simple and maps and gps devices absolutely unnecessary - turn right on the main (and pretty much only) road in there, going around the jungle. Literally: pier, turn right, keep going, pass a few little villages along the way and you're there when you see a river and concrete bridge - right after that boy is the place I am talking about, With a few guesthouses, some hat houses to rent (as we did for nearly 4 months in 2020), a few restaurants with Thai and farang food, coffee shop, a few open air music clubs and bars and one colourful, different looking, with a few distinctive signs of the potential of magic happening in that place. A bartender with a tie dye t-shirt (or without) and a blue bun on the top of his head will welcome you with a huge smile. Especially if you vibe there regularly, he will make you feel like home. With a few tables and pillows to sit on, with fluorescent drawings on the walls, with UV lights and some chill electronic music. Elevating. And nostalgic, oh yes indeed.
