Artist Name : Subhran Karmakar
Edition : 1/1
Location : Kolkata, India
Collection Name : Monochrome Musings
I took this picture at a park located near to my house. It was when the 1st lockdown got some relaxation. The park was almost empty. I recovered from Covid so I was avoiding the crowd for a few days. I saw this man looking at the water for a long time. May be is lost in thoughts or Maybe he is connected to the space or maybe chained by other tensions in his life. It was a simple scene but the picture tells a lot of story to me.

This collection is a group of photographs by me, from a period when I completely shifted to Black & White Photography. It was experimental for me. I use a mirrorless camera and it has a feature that I can see the world in Black & white through the viewfinder. It was also a challenge for me, which helped me refine my photography style and I got really good photographs during that period. I started in 2019, and after a few months the Pandemic came, then I was very curious about how will I complete this project. I continue shooting, I was shooting my surroundings, shooting from a distance but then I was fortunate to complete this project. I captured visual stories, moments which are decisive and unrepeatable. These pictures made me happy when I created them and also, and I can smell the places when I see them.
