“Captivated” is the name of Behdad Lahooti’s latest series of sculptures that was visualized in his mind since 2021. A host of red lines and constrained ideas have occupied the mind of the artist. The artworks are the outcome of the conflict and restrictions that the artist has experienced during his life. The collected pieces of the mutilated human body and the cage imprisoning him are the embodiment of the captive individual who is challenging himself and the society in which he lives. The red neon lights along with gypsum and metal are vigorous expressions of suppressed emotions in the subject.
