I camped at little slightly secret spot for a meteor shower with some friends. After photographing the stars for a bit, I decided to set up for a timelapse with my 85mm. I wanted to capture Shuksan and the stars with meteors popping above the peak.
After some time passed, the sky suddenly got really bright to the left and we could see the moonlight rising behind the mountain range. We watched as the moon slowly creeped above the mountain range which is always a striking sight. As the moon rose, the peak lit up and the stars faded out.
I was not sure how my camera was going to perceive this and assumed the timelapse was going to be blown out. Instead, it was almost the perfect amount of light to see more details of Shuksan but still watch the stars and sky move behind it. Serendipity.
3 timelapses and 3 hyperlapses, two forms of time travel that I really enjoy utilizing. A way to bring my photography to life by stitching a stack of images together to create moving realities. With timelapses, the world moves on its own; with hyperlapses, I move with the world. I hope you feel a snippet of the life I felt while in these environments.
