In 2013 I was commissioned to create art to be used for the California Roots Music Festival. The headlining acts that year were SOJA, Dirty Heads, Tribal Seeds, Ballyhoo!, Passafire, and The Movement.
The festival was held in Wilmington, North Carolina which happens to be close to one of my favorite surf spots on the East Coast, The Outer Banks (OBX to locals).
This digital art was inspired by my surf sessions and family trips to the OBX. The epic waves, the giant dunes, and intensely colorful sunsets all replayed in my mind as I zoned out making this piece.

Alders has been featured on CBS, NBC, Fox as well as in the pages of Penthouse. His work has been exhibited at the X-Games, music festivals and showcased throughout the United States, South America, Australia and Europe. in 2010, Alders was named, "Surf Artist of the Decade".
Six album covers have Jay's art including two for the band Slightly Stoopid and is regularly seen live painting on stage with rock stars.
