Horses have always fascinated mankind. Horses, which played a great role in the achievement of great victories and the development of civilizations, are the faithful friends of people today the same as they were yesterday. In this project, I wanted to show the grace of the horses rather than their wildness. Doesn't it look incredible in the dust cloud and herd noise? Who would dare to say these horses are wild? I may not know too much about horses, but their noble stance, grace and courage, and their loyalty towards people have always impressed me. Once, Pablo Picasso, said “If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse... but surely you will see the wildness!”. Horses, arts, photography, these spheres are interconnected, while horses represent life, arts & photography reflects the life itself.

I’m Nimet Gönenç Çınaroğlu, a photographer from Kayseri/Turkey. I have been taking photographs for 10 years and I have been interested in documentary photography for the last 4 years. I am interested in nature, people and different cultures. One of my main goals is to leave historical traces for the next generations. I started photography in 2012. This adventure, which started as a hobby, has come to a very important point in my life. I attended many workshops and received trainings in the field of photography. In 2015, I passed the pre-selection in the Nature category of the 10th National Geographic Turkey Photography Contest. In 2016, I came first in the Anatolian Life, Frames From Life Through Women's Eyes photography contest. I believe I was also able to touch the lives of people in the regions where I went to take pictures. I received awards in many domestic and international competitions such as Lensculture, Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Awards, International Photography Awards (IPA), Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA). I am also proud to have received the title of AFIAP “Artist Federation Internationale de L'art Photographique” in 2017. In 2017, I participated in the Visual Stories from My Hometown project initiated by the Turkey Photographic Arts Federation. In this project, I became acquainted with documentary photography. I made my first documentary project called “A silent song nobody knows”. I became President of the National Photographic Amateurs Association in 2020. I desire to improve myself and make various projects in the field of documentary photography. In 2020, I participated in the Documentary Stories from the Anthropocene Epoch project and so I am working on documenting how Sultan Sazlığı National Park and Çarıklı Mezrası were affected by the climate crisis, places which nowadays are protected by the Ramsar Convention.
