The “Noise-to-Signal” series images were realized between 1986-1990 on the first generation of photographic resolution analog-to-digital imaging system. The “born-digital” images were created on a computer through custom software in C in my studio at the Santa Fe Art Colony in downtown Los Angeles. The majority of the images in this collection were also printed on a prototype Fuji “JetGraphix” inkjet system at 23.5” x 28.5” that may be the first generation prints transferred digitally from a computer to print.
First edition of the Jetgraphix print in the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
