CRISPR technology has the potential to be an ethical tool for removing genes which cause serious medical conditions such as sickle cell anemia. But there is a flip side. Technologies like CRISPR also have the potential to do serious harm to society. Will parents choose to create "perfect" children and thus, widen our socioeconomic gaps causing more inequality and oppression?
If gene editing tech falls into the hands of dictators with no moral ethics, will these countries make armies of soldiers who feel no pain or emotions making them disposable killing machines? Will women be forced to become breeding machines to grow these soldiers?
