Times were rather tough while launching my Oatmilk company in 2019/20. Financially, emotionally, mentally. Add the pandemic to that storyline and one might find themselves nearing rock bottom. During that time, I was given an opportunity to work at a friend's restaurant in DTLA to earn some extra money. I would usually take the train from my Los Feliz home to the shop, and along the way I would meet some pretty incredible people. This man was certainly one of them. I had watched him attempt an ollie over a Lime scooter numerous times. After some time as a spectator, I asked if I could take a photo of his attempts. He agreed enthusiastically. This moment captures one of his many attempts, but speaks to the persistence of a man on a mission. A reminder to keep pushing forward. I'll leave it to you to guess if he made the jump or not.
