The arrival of comet Neowise was met with intrigue by everyone. I was dubious that I would get a decent image as the weather is notoriously bad where I live. But on this evening, with a good clear forecast, a flask of coffee and warm jacket I set out in pitch darkness to my chosen viewpoint. I waited for quite a while until both the sky was dark enough and the comet was in the right position before setting up my remote trigger. I clambered up onto the Tor and fired off a few frames gazing up into the sky. My selfies aren't usually that successful but this one I will look back on in years to come, a reminder of a once in a lifetime event.
My photographic journey started in 1992. Over the past 30 years I have photographed many subjects with landscape and travel at the forefront. Light is the most important aspect of my work, I work at the best times of day using natural light for my landscape work and a mix of ambient and artificial light for my travel and architecture work. I never tire of the hunt for that perfect image. Being stood behind the camera is my escape from the norm, capturing moments in time that I can look back on and which transport me back to that moment in time. Each of the unique 1/1 images in this collection include a signed aluminium print.
