The Queen of Spades or Dama Pika is a scary game or ritual, traditionally played by kids and teenagers in Bulgaria and Russia. It involves summoning the ghost of a woman and asking her to grant you one wish…for a price, of course. To play the Queen of Spades game, you need a playing card (the Queen of Spades, of course), a dark room, a mirror, a candle and some red lipstick. The game should be played only on nights when there is a full moon and exactly at midnight.

Apart from being the heroine of scary stories, the Queen of Spades is still one of the 52 cards in the deck. On the one hand, Queen of Spades embodies a sharp mind, wisdom, practicality and ambition, but, on the other hand, she is considered to bring bad luck. The French associate the cards with individual emblematic figures from the history or culture. In them, Queen of Spades is associated with the Greek goddess Athena Pallas.
