I started painting in 1988, and incorporated elements of language in my work in 2000. Since 2019, my work is the witness of the American society, without judgment, emotion, or stated point of view.

Although I use language in my work, I'm neither a novelist nor a poet. The elements of language that inhabit my works do not exist separately from the entire artwork. They are organically part of the subject (the black rectangle) and the singularity (the small rectangle on the right side). These elements of language lose their meaning if they are considered separately and therefore cannot be considered as quotes. They are exactly what they are, in their purest and original intent, as markings on a material surface of undefined scale, in an unspecified location, at an unspecified time.

Touching the cheek of a man with one’s hand is an intimate act of love that can legitimately be done by a child or a spouse, but is off-limits for strangers or friends.

What can we learn by feeling the skin’s temperature, shaving, texture, and elasticity? Will this act's physicality allow us to gain access to the man's thoughts or feelings?

The collector of this Random Homo Sapiens is encouraged to touch his cheek in any way they want, as often as they want, and share their findings with the community.

This work was exhibited in the Museum of Wild and Newfangled Art NFT Show, which took place from February 1 through April 30, 2022. The show features artworks from the 174 artists that were exhibited in mowna's first year. Current international artists working in a wide range of artistic mediums. High quality artists and diverse artwork. Innovative new technologies, experimenting in the art and museum space, and paying artists for their work. While the future of NFTs is unclear, mowna acknowledges the NFT space as a new opportunity for art. The show has been added to mowna's collection, which is available for viewing online at https://www.mowna.org.

The winner of this auction will receive a 1/1 limited edition NFT, minted by the museum. 70% of the sale will pay the artist of the NFT for their work, with the remaining 30% paying for the creation of the museum platform. The winner will also unlock a free one month membership code for the museum.
