#Friends with different ages

She likes flowers, or rather, plants in general.

Normally, even if she wanted to grow a plant, it wouldn't grow right away and she would usually get bored and start to be interested in something else, but she patiently waited for the flower she was growing at home to grow, even though it hadn't even sprouted yet.

She was so happy when the flowers sprouted that she would go to the neighbors to tell them that the flowers had sprouted.

When she was going to report the incident to a distant family she didn't know well, her parents were embarrassed and felt they had to teach her a lesson about her lack of sense of danger.

There was an old man living in a distant house, who was a bit distant and difficult to talk to, but when she went to him to report on the flowers, he listened intently and taught her how to grow flowers, plants and their types.

The old man was retired, but he used to work in landscaping.

Since then they have become friends of a different age.

I was so impressed when I found out that she was growing flower beds and vegetables at school. Of course, she reported it to her parents and neighbors.

Of course she reported it to her older friends, and the old man was as happy as she was.
She likes to talk to plants, this she hasn't told her parents, only her friends who are older than her know.

The old man listened to her without laughing and praised her for being great.
I recently learned that the teacher, who always looked scary and difficult, was as beautiful as a flower when she smiled.

Maybe I should tell the doctor, too, she thought.

#年の離れた友達

彼女は花がすきだ、というより植物全般が好きである。

普通は植物を育てようと思ってもすぐに育つわけではないため、大抵は飽きて別なことに興味を持ち始めるだろうが、彼女は家で育てている花がまだ芽も出ていないのに毎日ジーっと見ていて母が心配していたほど、根気強く育つのを待っていた。
花の芽が出た時の喜びようは凄く、近所に花の芽が出たことを報告しに行くほどだった。

良く知らない遠い家の人にまで報告しに行こうとしていた時にはさすがに両親も恥ずかしさと、娘の危機感の無さにちゃんと教えなければと思うのだった。

遠い家にはおじいさんが住んでいて周りからは気難しいと少し距離を置かれていたが、彼女が花のことを報告しに行くと邪険にせずに真剣に聞いて彼女に花の育て方や植物の育て方その種類などを教えてくれた。
おじいさんは引退してしまったが昔造園の仕事をしていたのだ。

それ以来二人は年の離れた友達になった。

そんな彼女は学校で花壇や野菜を育てていることを知った時には感動した。
もちろんそのことを両親やご近所さんに報告した。

もちろん彼女は年の離れた友達にも報告して、おじいさんは自分のことのように喜んだ。

彼女は植物と話すのが好きだ、このことは両親にも言ってない年の離れた友達だけが知っている。
おじいさんは笑わずに聞いてくれて、凄いことだと褒めてくれた。
最近いつも怖くて難しい顔をしていた先生が笑うと花のように綺麗な先生だと知った。
先生にもをしえてあげようかなと少し考えている。
