I hiked for 2 hours in the dark to get to the Tolmie fire lookout to capture the rising sun on the mountain
This is a collection of photos taken on and of Mt Tahoma. This is the Natives name for the mountain, which translates to “Mother of all waters”. They pronounce it “Taquoma”. The eastern Natives pronounced it “Tahoma”, which is the agreed on name from the league of Natives.
This shot was taken in Nov of 2021 after a long day of hiking on the mountain. It was a beautiful and sunny day in which I visited a frozen lake and explored new trials. Wildlife is abundant all over the mountain! I love to feed the Grey Jays, which will take food out of your fingers! They are so fun, and I make a point to feed them when I visit their realm. A park ranger came by to tell me the park was closing and to head out. After he had pulled away, I noticed the sky was starting to explode in color. I had to get some shots! The sky went from a light pink, to the most vibrant purples. I stayed as long as I dared, and waved to the waiting ranger on the way out. I hope you enjoy this journey we call life.
