Near Christmas in 1971, I was driving on CA Hwy 91 towards Corona, CA, passing Green River Golf Course, when "Green River" by Creedence Clearwater Revival blasted out of my radio. They are unforgettable opening cords of a song. I just smiled, thinking about the lucky convergence of these two things. Every time I hear that song, I think of that drive and passing that golf course. In this piece, I used a two to four-pixel-wide black line to define green tributaries flowing down the page, a river of green. Also, I used a red fill as the lower base because these two colors remind many of us of Christmas. The Single Line Art logo is in the upper right corner of the piece.
Each piece of art in this collection begins with single contiguous line 2 to 4 pixels wide that begins in one corner of the piece and ends on the opposite corner. This design was the first type I created. The line doesn't intersect with itself anywhere and is drawn by intuition, feeling, and thought. Each side of the line is then colored.
