The California wildfires have raged more in the last few years than I can ever remember. I recall the first fire I witnessed in 1950s; we lived near the San Gabriel Mountains, and seeing the hillsides burn was strangely disconcerting. Living in northern California for the past few years, the devastation of huge fires has wiped out communities and created smoke-filled skies for hundreds of miles. In this piece, I used a two to four-pixel-wide black line to define the red flames building across the page from the lower left side toward the bright yellow California sun. The Single Line Art logo is in the upper left corner of the piece.
