The inspiration for this piece comes from the following; Prince's song "Purple Rain," that purple is a royal and spiritual color, and my favorite basketball team's (Los Angeles Lakers) colors are purple and gold. Additionally, gold is associated with wealth, and the sun at sunset is golden. I drew a single two to four-pixel-wide black continuous line that begins in one corner of the page and makes a meandering path to the opposite diagonal corner. In no place does the line intersect with itself. To show purple as falling like rain, I used it on the upper side of the line while the gold of sunlight attempts to break through from the bottom. The Single Line Art logo is in the lower right corner of the piece.
Each piece of art in this collection begins with single contiguous line 2 to 4 pixels wide that begins in one corner of the piece and ends on the opposite corner. This design was the first type I created. The line doesn't intersect with itself anywhere and is drawn by intuition, feeling, and thought. Each side of the line is then colored.
