Waiting for Spring #5
Location: Glavice, Croatia
Year taken: 2022
Edition 1/1
Waiting for Spring is series of 6 photographs taken in my hometown, a small picturesque village in the heart of the Dalmatian hinterland. Following the footsteps of Impressionist painting, the emphasis is on experience, perception, colors and emotional atmosphere captured in almost abstract scenes of the swaying delicate stems of field plants and flowers. The restlessness, dizziness, distortion of the scenes captured by the lens, in my vision is opposed to the calmness and permanence of the cycle of the seasons whose shift in photographs is read exclusively through changing tones. The soft transition from winter, cool blue, to greenish, golden and fiery tones of summer at the end is a symbolic cycle of life, a testimony to the balance of nature and the renewal of its strength, which sets with each winter and renews with each new spring.
