Joan of Arc was born in 1431 in the French community Domrémy-la-Pucelle. Joan was a peasant woman who was etched in world history: a young woman who led French troops against the English.

From the age of 13, she claimed to hear voices and see visions which told her to join the fight against the English.

Her passage in the world was brief, but very impactful, Joana was accused of heresy and witchcraft, and ended up being burned in the public square at just 19 years old.

Currently, Joan of Arc is considered the patron saint of France and is one of the great heroines of the country's history.

Supporting the cause of transforming women's lives, Joana D'Arc represents the campaign Mulheres do Bairro, whose mission is to promote, through education and social assistance, the guarantee of rights for children, adolescents, young people and their families.
