catch the knife (2021) is an edition of three animations.

Using x-ray image classification datasets and machine learning an algorithm was trained to create variations of a falling knife. Therefore the item itself may not be the subject, but only a representation of a possible reality interpreted by the observer.

The auctions will run with the decreasing time limit of 24, 12 and 6 hours. With the end of each auction, the art-work will either be burned or sent to the highest bid. The transfer will trigger the release of a separate sale allowing for fractional ownership of the derivative.
