Had the perfect light that evening. Watched the surfers and observed the shimmering silhouettes in the sea. Surfing inspires me and teaches me so many things. I love the patience surfers have waiting for the perfect wave. Often they have to abort. Many days there are no waves in the ocean. But they feed off that one wave they ride in their life. And that's how I felt that day. I sat on the beach with my telephoto lens like a sniper. For hours. Just to catch the perfect frame. This picture may not be perfect. But the memory of it is.
"POHLEROIDS" is a collection of 40 limited edition photographs from the last 4 years as a travel photographer. The composition consists of my surname "Pohler" and the ever-present term "Polaroid". The Polaroid picture is characterized by the moments in between. It doesn't have to be technically perfect but full of emotion and memories. So are my POHLEROIDS in-between moments that are most important to me personally.
