Tea And Cake - Picnic by Rohan Ganapathy
Poem:
I ran barefoot toward a tree,
under which she had laid a picnic blanket for three.
With my best friend, Ducky, clutched in my hand,
I ran around in circles of joy, carefree on this uncharted land.
I could feel the summer grass under my feet,
she said "make sure you're clean before you sit on the sheet."
I bent over to wipe them down good.
Then sat down and opened my mouth for a cake to be put.

Tea and cake by Rohan Ganapathy
Story:
The 3 hands are a metaphor for "Three hands of the family, the child, the mother & the father".
Tea and cake is a collection that's a darker take on a fading happy memory I shared with my mother when I was a child.
My mum used to always have cake & a drink(mostly tea) ready for me after I came back from school & fed it to me as I watched cartoons. It was a constant even when we used to go on picnics or to the beach & many such instances during my childhood. As a child I swore to myself that I would take care of them & be there for them when they needed me when they are older. But life had other plans for me. I now live in constant fear of losing them when Im not with them.
This collection encapsulates these memories from the eyes of a child who is now living with that fear.
Each photo is accompanied by a unique poem written & recited by me.
Locations are picked based on the actual memory.
Contains subtle gamification.
