“Malala Yousafzai” is a physical piece as well as an NFT from the famous painter Sophie Brussaux (www.SophieBrussaux.com).

The winner of this auction will have the physical painting delivered to them!

Proceeds of this auction will be given to the Malala foundation and a Women's shelter in Toronto. For international women's month, we want to support Malala and what she stands for.

The physical piece is mixed media on 120 cm x 120cm stretched canvas, painted in 2021 as a part of the series Icon With A Purpose in which modern-day icons are being celebrated for using their platform to have a positive impact on the world. It is tied to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. It provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. Each goal is associated with a colour, and Malala here is represented with the dominant red of goal #4: quality education for all and goal #5: gender equality. Malala Yousafzai has dedicated her life to fight for girls’ education. She has made an immense impact in regard to giving educational opportunities to females, and using her voice and her platform to make such a positive impact in this world. In 2013, Malala and her father Co-Founded The Malala Fund, which empowers girls to demand change, and brings awareness to the economic and social impact of girls’ education. In 2014, she became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In 2017, Malala was designated as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, to help raise awareness of the importance of girl’s education.
