Obscūra is a Latin word meaning shadowy and indistinct. The photograph was made on a cold and foggy night in Darjeeling,a bustling hill station in West Bengal,cradled amidst the imposing Himalayas. A fresh bout of rain have made the stone-paved roads wet and glistening. Thick fog and clouds engulf the town,conjuring up a mystic atmosphere. Unbothered by the climate,some tourists have gathered around the town-square,taking photos and making memories. In the background,the street-light glows softly under the blanket of fog,and,from it,emerges a shadowy figure. The shadowy figure seems to give a sense of eerie and uncertainty, as if , in contrast to the glee and positivity of the characters in the foreground.
