Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed around 3 million years ago.

African elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. They are a keystone species that play a critical role in their ecosystem.

Elephants are highly intelligent animals with the rare ability to recognize themselves in a mirror — something few animals are known to do.

Poaching for ivory has decimated the population over the years and now leaves the African elephant as an Endangered species on the IUCN Red List.
