A Life On Earth
#10 Black-capped Squirrel Monkey
The Yacuma River is host to a wide range of wildlife, feeding its way through the jungle and pampas of Bolivia before joining the mighty Amazon River.
The Black-capped squirrel monkey is a species of New-World monkey native to the upper Amazon Basin in Bolivia.
These New World monkeys can adapt to various habitat types including disturbed forests.
They are typically arboreal, staying in the canopy and occasionally leave to visit the shrub layer below to scavenge for food.
