Comprising four independent series, chapter i is my first full collection in digital format. I was inspired by my children to create this collection after watching how their imaginations develop-heavily influenced by their lived experiences yet freely exploring within the constraints of understood concepts. Throughout chapter i, I attempted to replicate that by starting with parameters and then challenging myself to explore each series differently. To encourage my children to continue exploring their artistic interests, I was heavily focused on creating something that I thought they would enjoy. Each item in this chapter is a 1/1 piece of digital art that is solely available on the block chain.

I am abstractment. I am an independent artist that has been creating and collecting art for decades. I was originally inspired to explore art by my father. Before I was born, he was a passionate art teacher who loved his work. As our family grew, he made the selfless decision to quit his passion for teaching and artistry in order to support the family with a higher-paying, creativity-killing job. Knowing that he sacrificed his passion so that I could have a better life has weighed heavily on me over the years. And without realizing it, I was following in his footsteps, suppressing my creativity in order to pursue a more traditional career path. Now, the digital movement has given me the opportunity to explore art on my own terms and in a way that will hopefully inspire my children to do the same.

The names in this collection represent mothers, fathers, sons, and/or daughters from cultures across the globe who are serving as inspiration for others, just as my father and children have done for me. I hope you enjoy.
