This is a procedurally generated image using a real quantum computer. The quantum computer being used is called ibmq_manhattan. The code to generate the image takes a text string, in this case "Manhattan", and converts each letter to a quantum circuit which is then run on the quantum system and returns data that can be styled as a histogram. Juxtaposing each letter's histogram next to each other creates an image reminiscence of a city skyline, which is what is shown in the above image.

Many quantum computers are named after cities. The output from a quantum computer can be represented as a histogram, which as luck would have it looks kind of like a city skyline. This series uses a quantum algorithm to representation each letter of the city's name as a row of "buildings", which is then run on the quantum computer of the same name.
