There were a dozen or more people already photographing the rare white morph reddish egret when I arrived, so I decided to photograph the red morph reddish egret in hopes of getting a unique shot or at least a much closer opportunity for some action shots... and I hit the jackpot on this one! When I started to review my photos on y computer I noticed the water in this photo was connected all the way up in the air. This reddish egret was so fast at striking that the water went almost perfectly upwards! The movement of the water in the photo still amazes me after looking at it over and over.
