One of my favorite times to photograph burrowing owls is during a rainstorm to get more unique photos and a different perspective on the daily lives on these incredible birds... It had just started sprinkling and a few drops had settled on top of this burrowing owl's feathers. The sandy background and grassy foreground made this moment a special one for me. Burrowing owls love to play and take baths in the sand in order keep their feathers from getting too oily.
