Within 20 minutes of being born, snowy plover chicks are able to start wobbling their way across the sand. Parents will call to the hatchlings and guide them with the sound of their calls. The newly hatched snowy plover will take a couple steps at a time before collapsing or rolling over from exerting their young muscles, which is quite funny to observe. This little one was standing strong and making some progress when I took this shot.
