Humans in Dream Worlds Collection (HIDW) - 009
This is a 1/1 photograph by Neil Tapman
The Giants Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage site, which contains around 40,000 basalt columns. These were formed around 50-60 million years ago when Ireland was subject to intense volcanic activity.
Others say that they were formed by the giant Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool) after he was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Fionn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two giants could meet!
I've shot at this location numerous times and it's one of those locations that I could never tire of. Endless possibilities and compositions!

This collection features 10 of my best and most popular images, some of which have been featured online by the likes of National Geographic Magazine, Sony Alpha, TripAdvisor, & Visit Argentina. These images were taken over a 3.5 year period in Argentina, Portugal, Northern Ireland, & the US.
As a landscape photographer, my aim is to capture the experience and feeling of a location/moment all within a single image! I want the viewer to feel as if they have teleported into one of my images. There are many ways in which I try to achieve this and one of them is by adding in the human element. (Person) Sometimes this can be done to show scale (a person next to a mountain for example) but it's so much more than that! To me, it adds another layer of dreaminess, depth, emotion, and perhaps even a sense of wanderlust. Let your imagination run wild... Maybe it's you standing there in that image!
