Containment and experimentation define the work of Rolo Fernández if we carry out a detailed reading of his works. An artist who does not allow himself to stop creating, even when resistance to other ways of understanding and presenting art and its contents persist in the universe of artistic creation. This work of painting and telling is admirable, appropriating the illustration to build pieces in which the iconic dimension of the image, resulting from the written text, is evident. Addressing his pictorial strokes is equally linked to the formal and semantic relationships established in the graphic recreation of a story. Rolo has found in literature and orality the keys to an original and sincere creative exercise. The arrangement of its characters and objects on the surface of the painting responds to readings made by the author about stories, fables, tales or classics of writing, now provided with a different meaning and structured from visuality.
